Kids' Symphonic Sunday - Concerts

Bring your families to hear professional musicians give a monthly introduction to the instruments of the orchestra.  We'll sing, dance and learn a huge amount, all whilst hearing the most beautiful sounds.

Nicki and James provide engaging, interactive concerts which increase the musical knowledge of kids - and their grownups - in equal measure. Each concert stars a new professional guest who provides a deep dive into the workings of their specialist instrument.  There's even a chance for everyone to have a go for themselves.

Kids' Symphonic School Sessions

Nicki and James will bring their substantial selection of instruments into your school to give class workshops that introduce all the families of the orchestra.  With a programme specially curated for each individual school and tailored to your current topics and subjects, pupils will have the opportunity to build their musical knowledge, whilst supporting their classroom studies.

Please get in touch for further details of how we can support your curriculum with a day of musical fun.

Audience Testimonials

Sara M - audience member

"We were lucky enough to find out about Symphonic Sundays from a friend and for the price of a posh sandwich, we've been serenaded by professional musicians, while learning about the instruments and types of music, and the best bit is being allowed to have a go on the instruments at the end. I don't know where else my daughter would be able to have an experience like this and it's all on our doorstop. Oh, and the music might have been known to bring a tear or two to mummy's eye...."

Ruthie T - audience member

"Our whole family have adored KSS with each session being a highlight in our family diary. Nicki and James effortlessly balance a relaxed and fun filled musical experience that is not only perfectly accessible to small children but a real treat to attend as a parent. Our boys (ages 6 and 4 years) have learnt so much and love the opportunity to get 'hands on', be it trying out a new instrument or having a chance to conduct. As both a parent and an Early Years Practitioner I can’t recommend KSS enough!"

Catherine Lett - violin teacher

"Having participated in one of the KSS mornings, I can't recommend them highly enough!  Presented in vibrant and engaging style, the children are kept entertained and excited for the whole session.  Then they got to try the instruments which is the best way to show them what's possible!  I still teach a lovely boy who first tried the violin at a Symphonic Sunday session :)"

Oliver S - audience member

"Great atmosphere, highly informative and the kids getting to meet such talented people is really inspirational"

Lindsay L - audience member

Eleanor S - audience member

"KSS is perfectly pitched for children and adults alike. The audience absorbs information and skills whilst having a great time. Our family is so grateful for these shows!"

Gemma Ball,
Headteacher Badshot Lea Village Infant School

KSS visited our school and performed to all the children - it was simply magical and the children were all enthralled.  Being able to experience live music was such a treat and one the children won't forget.  Nicki and James were so engaging and tailored their choice of music to the children's learning and their experiences.  They brought music to life and the children and adults were able to take part and be part of the whole musical experience. We can't wait to have them back in school again!
