Nicki Davenport
As well as running KSS, Nicki is a professional double bass player and teacher. The bulk of her work is as a theatre musician which has seen her dressed as a cowgirl for Oklahoma at the Young Vic, supporting a lost Egyptian Police orchestra in The Bands Visit at the Donmar Warehouse and currently trying to not get too scared playing for Roald Dahl's The Witches at the National Theatre. Nicki has performed for multiple other productions at the National Theatre including Hadestown, Pinnochio, Much Ado About Nothing and Twelfth Night (which included some acting and close harmony singing on the Olivier stage - heaven!). She has worked at the Chichester Festival Theatre on productions of Flowers for Mrs Harris, This is my Family, South Pacific and Fiddler on the Roof. Back on stage, Nicki loved being a part of Cameron Macintosh's Les Mis in Concert at the Gielgud theatre - with the orchestra on stage she was able to see the action for once!
Nicki spent the first decade of her career touring most of the world with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Aurora Orchestra, as well as a pretty special tour of Europe and North America with Sting. When she's not working on a long contract, she can often be found down in the orchestra pit of West End shows such as Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera, giving the regular bass player a night off.

Nicki holds teaching posts at Charterhouse, All Hallows, Weybourne and More House School, Frensham, where a varied day includes teaching piano and flute as well as double bass.
